Level 0 · See the Whole Board
Say the three arcs from memory, master sheet in hand. Pre-event, show day, post-event; where Filmmakers Connect sits on the scale bands; the working tools installed.
A documentation-style course that takes one learner, the person running Filmmakers Connect, from instinct-driven organizer to systematic event director. It is built from the best free material on the internet: the organizer guides communities like DevOpsDays and TEDx actually publish, verified video lessons embedded with timestamped watch-fors, and written explainers sourced from graded research. Organized into levels with exercises, quizzes, and completion tracking.
Every capstone is a real Filmmakers Connect deliverable. The course is not homework alongside the work, it is the work, taught properly.
Jargon is taught by usage: every term enters the course inside the lesson where you first need it, and the glossary is generated backwards from lessons.
Each level ends with one honest, one-line test. Pass it and you move up.
Level 0 · See the Whole Board
Say the three arcs from memory, master sheet in hand. Pre-event, show day, post-event; where Filmmakers Connect sits on the scale bands; the working tools installed.
Level 1 · The Blueprint
Blueprint one event end to end on paper, every function owned by a named person. Concept, org chart, runway, three-tier budget, prospectus, venue scorecard, risk page.
Level 2 · Fill the Room
Registration open, prospectus out, run of show drafted, every station staffed on paper. The promotion runway, the no-show math, the sponsor pipeline, the program, the volunteer engine.
Level 3 · Show Day and Beyond
Run the event, then ship every sponsor report inside 10 business days. Day-of command, load-in to doors, incidents, the post-event week, the flywheel to the next event.
Go in order. Levels build on each other, and so does the vocabulary. Each lesson is one sitting: a short read, sometimes a video with exact timestamps worth your attention, one exercise you can finish in 30 minutes, and a quick self-check. Mark lessons complete as you go; your progress lives in your browser.
